*Mommy's social issue of the day!*

Witch doctors, voodoo, murders, sunscreen, sunglasses and hats, Albinism and Africa.  What could any of those things possibly have in common?  A lot actually! All over the world there are children and adults who are born with Albinism. We see them but we don’t know too much about what they are suffering from.  Did you know a lot of them have terrible eyesight? Their skin is sensitive.   In Africa, inside and out of Tanzania, there is terror and fear higher on the minds of the Albino people living there, then their sun burned skin.   It’s a fear of being hunted and dismembered all in the name of good luck.  How could something so terrifying bring good luck?   This I have yet to understand.  But people will murder and dismember albino children and adults. All to sell the limbs to buyers for these crazy witchdoctors. So far it sounds like greed. There is not much we can do to stop the practices of these witch doctors. My heart breaks hearing this horror that’s happening.

In the same breath when I see the flaky, ruff, wrinkled white skin of these children.  I feel compelled to at least send them some relief.  Collecting simple things and donating them is one thing I can do to help these poor children

All they need is a few items.  Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and magnifiers.  Even aloe gel to relieve burning skin would be life changing to a poor mother that could not afford such an item. Just to help ease the suffering of her poor child.  Some sort of magnifier would be eye opening as well, almost literally. It would be an opportunity to see things they would normally not. I am going to collect as much as I can and send them to an organization called “Under The Same Sun”. *http://www.underthesamesun.com/home.php* They help in Tanzania. I hope others can join my cause.   Can you help?
